Say Thanks lets you say thanks to people on your facebook, but in the form of a video. It’s quite similar to the facebook anniversary video where fb generates a video on your year for you. But with #saythanks, you get to pick which pictures and fb status to include in the video, depending on the template you choose.
While debugging for a twitter plugin for WordPress, I came across Fabric by Twitter. I did a little digging, and it’s new, it’s a mobile development suit that Twitter is creating but yet to launch. I gave it a try, but there is a waiting list.
A quote from the webpage…
Mobile Development, Solved.
We know first-hand that building great mobile apps is hard. Developers face many of the same challenges day-in and day-out: making their apps reliable, testing before going live, driving downloads, onboarding new users, engaging them, understanding their apps’ growth and monetizing. Each challenge presents a unique set of hurdles.
Our passion is building tools that make developers’ lives easier. This is why we’ve built Fabric: a modular, cross-platform mobile development suite that helps you solve any one – or all – of these challenges and build the best apps with the least effort.
I urge mobile developers and others alike to take a look now at www.fabric.io
So yea… Microsoft has decided to make Visual Studio Community 2013 free for developers in order to promote open source development. The Visual Studio Community 2013 is a new, fully-featured edition of Microsoft’s Visual Studio and apparently it lets developers target any platform at all, including mobile and cloud. Best of all, it’s free!
So if you’re a developer, you might wanna take advantage of these free offers from Microsoft now. There’s more details on this page: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/somasegar/archive/2014/11/12/opening-up-visual-studio-and-net-to-every-developer-any-application-net-server-core-open-source-and-cross-platform-visual-studio-community-2013-and-preview-of-visual-studio-2015-and-net-2015.aspx
This morning, a friend asked me “why is your whatsapp blue?”. I wasn’t sure, so I went back to a few messages I had sent because yesterday, I noticed some of them had blue double ticks. I did a little research, and it turns out that the latest version of #whatsapp finally has the so desired “read” notification (from BBM).
If you’re used to whatsapp, the single tick means your message was sent. Double tick means it was delivered to the recipient’s device. But until now, there was no way to tell if the message had been read or not. Now with this new feature, the blue double tick indicates that the message has been read by the recipient 🙂 I had wanted this for sooo long.
Also, if you press and hold a message that has the blue double ticks, in the menu that appears, you can tap the information icon to see what time the message was delivered as well as what time it was seen. I strongly suggest you all update your whatapp apps now, if you haven’t already done so.
So what features do you also desire on whatsapp that are present in other messaging apps you use?
